What path differences are needed for constructive and destructive interference?  Explain your answers.

For constructive interference we need an even number of half wavelengths (P). 

This means that two peaks or troughs will coincide (P).

For destructive interference we need odd numbers of half wavelengths (P).

So a peak will coincide with a trough (P).
