Give two considerations that should be taken into account when designing the interface between a user and software.  Explain your points. 

Menu Design:

• Structure should be similar to other applications;
• Commands should be obvious
• Icons should be clear

Screen Layout:

• Should not be cluttered.
• Colours should be restful to the eye;
• Writing should be clear (i.e. not black on a dark blue background).

[Side note: As a father of a young child, I find the software for children really quite difficult to use; the icons are far from obvious.  Shutting it down can be a nightmare!  My son thinks I'm double-thick as a result.]
