Advantages:

• Customer does not have to queue for long.
• Customer can access funds twenty four hours a day.
• Customer can use the ATM for other account enquiries.
• ATM can be in convenient location.

Disadvantages

• Lack of personal feel with an ATM
• Stolen card can be used anonymously, without the need for a signature (Some muggers attack people as they leave an ATM and get the PIN number after stealing the card).
• Funds cannot be deposited at an ATM.
