Explain what is meant by alpha and beta testing. In your answer explain which type of testing applies to bespoke and proprietary software.
Alpha testing is carried out as acceptance testing between a software house and its client. This would be done on bespoke software.
Beta testing is where proprietary software is sent out to users before commercial release. The users test the software under real conditions and send back reports on errors or poor functionality.
