Give four physical and psychological factors that
govern how people interact with computer systems
Physical and psychological factor include:
- Vision - colour should be used in conjunction
with words and with experience. For example red means stop. Words should
be placed on buttons as some people are colour-blind;
- Hearing - certain noises occur with certain
events, for example a click noise is made when a button is activated;
- Touch - people prefer to click buttons on a
keyboard. It has a more solid feel;
- Movement - icons should be large enough to be
manipulated easily with a mouse.
- People learn by practice - repeated tutorials
will enable staff to become more competent in the use of software;
